Braxton Sawyer is a second generation firefighter that dedicates his life to saving the lives of others. This is what drives him and he proudly wears the battle scars to prove it. Mentally and physically. After returning from being on the frontlines of California wildfires along side fellow smoke eaters he riddled with unseen wounds that remains within him in the form of PTSD. But fortunately for Sawyer one hot summer day his life changes for the better due to a broken down city bus. Arielle Barnes is a determined nursing student that is will let nothing stand in her way of making her dreams come true. After a weekend visit at her cousin's house turns ends up being a traumatic experience, she shuts down. Her focus is school and nothing else. Opening up to love is the furthest thing on her mind. The chance encounter between these two entails a journey of testing if love is worth all the trouble especially with challenging career choices.
