Overview

Detective Inspector Gareth Benedict has spent nearly his entire life on St. David's Isle, a bucolic haven off the north coast of Wales. More recently, though, he has known tragedy and loss, and when he returns to the force after an extended leave, he must get used to Detective Sergeant Rachel Griffith-Thomas, who joins his team. On their first day together, they are called to a suspicious death at the respected St. Brynach's School. A student's body in the sand raises plenty of questions, and Benedict soon realises there are more secrets within the walls of St. Brynach's, many of which lead him and his team to further inquiry and insight. A secret club, a podcast gone wrong, and a hidden passage unearth plenty of evidence that this death is no accident. And when they discover links to a troublesome group from years past, Benedict knows the killer inhabits the halls of the school. But can their team identify the murderer and provide the justice and hope the wounded school community craves?
