Reviews

Tibet is a topical subject in the news and thanks to the efforts of filmmakers and famous personalities such as Richard Gere, many people are aware of the plight of the Tibetan people. But looking beyond the latest fashionable issue, Tibetan Buddhism is part of a practical tradition that is full of useful wisdom for those in the West. Here, Sangharakshita, the British author of this down-to-earth guide, passes on the benefits of the considerable time he has spent with Tibetan lamas in an introduction to the origin and history of Tibetan Buddhism. (Kirkus UK)
