Thunderbolts: Winter Soldiers

Overview

The Winter Soldier leads a new team of Thunderbolts! Out of the ashes of Avengers: Standoff, Bucky Barnes recruits a squad of renegades - but are they heroes or villains? Do even they know for sure?! They're on a rampage across the Marvel Universe, hunting down and destroying bizarre, mind-bending threats - all the while harboring one of their own! And among their number is the serial manipulator Moonstone! What could go wrong? How about a gut-wrenching battle for leadership, an alien threat and super-team showdowns with the All-New Inhumans and the Squadron Supreme?! As Civil War II rages, the Winter Soldier takes on Spider-Man! But Steve Rogers wants to know where Bucky's loyalties lie. Plus: The Thunderbolts used to be the Masters of Evil - and if Baron Zemo has his way, their villainous legacy will be reclaimed with the infinite power of a Cosmic Cube! Collecting: Thunderbolts (2016) 1-12

Author Information

Jim Zub — a Toronto-based writer, artist and art instructor — has worked for a diverse array of publishing, movie and video-game clients including Disney, Warner Bros., Capcom, Hasbro, Bandai-Namco and Mattel. Zub divides his time between freelance comic writing and his position as program coordinator for Seneca College’s award-winning animation program. His projects include Samurai Jack, a comic series continuing the award-winning cartoon; Makeshift Miracle, a modern-day fable; Skullkickers, a sword-and-sorcery action-comedy; and Pathfinder, a comic series based on the bestselling tabletop RPG. Zub brought his talents to Marvel for the hit Disney Kingdoms series Figment. Straight off of his run on Thunderbolts, Jon Malin set his sights on Cable, bringing Nathan Summers’ team of Newer Mutants to life. Rising-star artist Sean Izaakse caught the attention of Marvel fans with his work on Uncanny Avengers before bringing youthful energy to the Champions. After illustrating titles including Avengers: No Road Home, Izaakse took on Marvel’s First Family in both the main Fantastic Four title and the decade-hopping limited series Fantastic Four: Life Story.
