Thru The Eyes of a Warrior

Overview

What happens when silence becomes too loud to bear? For decades, Jack Delaney kept the war locked inside-a box of unsent letters, a cigar tin of fading photos, a voice buried in grief. But when a letter arrives from the granddaughter of a fallen comrade, asking for the truth behind a grandfather she never knew, Jack is forced to confront the past he swore he'd forget. Thru the Eyes of a Warrior is a powerful fusion of narrative and poetry-a veteran's reflection on war, brotherhood, and the long, uneven road to healing. Inspired by real experiences and written with haunting honesty, Merrill A. Vaughan gives voice to generations of veterans whose stories were never told, whose wounds were never seen. From the jungles of Vietnam to the quiet of a New Hampshire winter, this book is a journey through memory, guilt, honor, and grace. Interwoven with moving poems that echo the heartbeats of those who served, it is a tribute to the men and women who carry the battle home. This is not just a story of war. It's a story of remembering, reckoning, and reclaiming a voice-one page, one poem, one truth at a time. Merrill Vaughan, born in 1949 in California, is a retired U.S. Air Force veteran who has dedicated his life to community service and education. After serving overseas, he became actively involved in local committees and served as a substitute teacher in New Hampshire, where he inspired countless students. His passion for storytelling led to the creation of the Cold Case Investigators series, beginning with The Kidnapping and followed by The Happy Paper Hanger. Merrill believes in transforming negativity into positivity, embodying this philosophy through his writing and community engagement. He resides in Pittsfield, NH, with his wife, Diane. I thank you for enjoying my books.
