Overview

Maggie Gilbert and her children, Jack and Alice, live a pretty normal life. That is, until Maggie starts looking into her family tree. In doing so, she uncovers a dark mystery that endangers her children. She has to solve the mystery in the past, if she is to save her family in the present. Together with a fellow genealogist, Zelah, Maggie unearths more and more details about the drowning of a small girl and the unsolved disappearance of Maggie's ancestor. Strange forces are at work, and they seem to be leaking into the present. This supernatural mystery is set in and around Cwmbran and Newport in South Wales, and draws on real historical details.

M. K. Jones was born in South Wales and moved around the United Kingdom and Europe as student, teacher, holiday rep, and HR manager. Her passion for genealogy began when her mother researched her Irish immigrant family. She now undertakes research projects for friends and family. Having recently discovered via a DNA test that she is 66% Celt, Mary is currently in touch with a number of relatives that she didn't know she had in the United Kingdom and the United States. She is a member of the Society of Genealogists. Polly Lee, an Earphones Award-winning narrtor, is an actress from London who has appeared in the off-Broadway shows Lenin's Embalmer's, Close Ties, Slag Heap, The October Crisis, and others. She received her BA degree in theater studies from London University and an MFA from the New School in New York.
