Overview

The first two pieces were written specifically for a five-piano concert organized by Sharon Cundiff, a fellow piano teacher in Boulder. The event was held in the auditorium of the Niwot High School - hence the name of the first piece. (Chief Niwot, for whom the town was named, was a very well respected member of the Southern Arapahoe tribe which spent a lot of time in that area....a few miles east of Boulder CO.) The second - 'Summer Sun' - is a light, melodic piece that provides a contrast in style and mood to the ragtime piece. The Gospel Medley was written for the first annual Pianos Alive concert - a five-piano event - at First Presbyterian Church in Boulder, CO in 2010.
