Overview

For the last six years, Dr. Dorsey has used the triathlon sport as a foundation of success in urban communities for urban youth. Several questions arise in the industry of Is there evidence that youth grow through the sport and if so, where are they? Obviously this question is from a non urban point of view. Despite the answer to that inquiry regarding non minorities, there are youth that have and continue to grow through the triathlon sport. Additionally, these youth have also exceeded expectations avail as a result of the sport and now are trail blazers and role models as to the future with the triathlon sports for all youth, especially urban youth. Through an open and exploratory discussion, Dr. Dorsey sits down with two of the three co-founders of the IABT Junior Multisport Club, Halz S. and Beloved J. For the last six years, these youth have been advocates, role model and creating ground breaking opportunities for urban youth in and through the sport of triathlon. While facing and overcoming adversities of their own, Halz S. and Beloved J. continue to forge forward continuing to make history of their own. What's powerful about the discussion is that these youth are only 14 and 12 years old and remain the viable key to assisting other youth to the sport of triathlon and while showing exactly what the sport has to offer, plus more.
