OverviewThompsonville is an unassuming Mississippi town situated in the southern piney-wooded hill country. Louisiana is not too far to its south and the Alabama state line is much closer to the east. Thompsonville has an unusual heritage. It was established in the late 1800s by Georgia plantation slaves who migrated there during Reconstruction. It has secrets and stories to tell about ordinary and not so ordinary people. These tell of love, happiness, fear, losing, winning, anger and sometimes sadness. Thompsonville is indeed a power place . Its people are, for the most part, good-hearted humble folk who respect, revere and enjoy a close connection to their heritage. Their lives reflect hope, never giving up and belief in a higher power. Many of the short stories presented in this work were written and rewritten over a period of the last twenty years. He is a southerner who was born and raised in the segregated south. He grew up during the Civil Rights Movement and like most of the generation in that era benefited from the gains of the struggle. His interest as a serious writer of fiction was powered by creative writing skills he originally learned and developed during his undergraduate years at Jackson State college in Mississippi. He did not pick up his interest in serious writing again until his early forties. He has written numerous magazine and newspaper articles on various sports and travel themes. Thompsonville Collection Mystic Song of the South is mostly a product of his childhood and his young adult recollections and experiences. He is the father of three sons (all Aquarians) and one daughter (Gemini) and three grandsons and one granddaughter. He is a member of the Orlando Renaissance Writer's Guild.
