Reviews

...With striking honesty and insight, Iliffe-Wood reveals the transformative power of love and the quiet joy found in the present moment. This collection is ... a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. -Professor Jonathan Vaughan, Principal, Guildhall School of Music & Drama The sense of a voyage is palpable throughout in language, form and feeling, and hits like a great tsunami crashing against the shore, before finally calming to a steady flow... These elegies deserve to be consumed as thoroughly as they have been written. -Luke Shaw, Trainer, Therapist, Performer The poems spill from the author's generous spirit, landing as grace in the heart and soul... they weave a poetic tapestry stitched with threads of humble, deeply felt love. - Linda Sandel Pettit, Ed.D., Author of Leaning into Curves, Speaker, and Spiritual Midwife .. a remarkable experience, at times feeling like the words were my own. I cannot recommend this series of poems enough. -Jules Swales, Writing Teacher, Author of Declarative and I want a Stonehenge life

Author Information

Maria Iliffe-Wood's first, rather twee (her words!), poem called A Good Friend, was published in an anthology in 2002. She didn't write poetry again for twenty years. She is the author of Coaching Presence, an academic book for coaches, Daily Yarns, a social diary of the pandemic and A Caged Mind, a spiritual memoir. She is the founder of IW Press, a partnership publisher. She has come a long way since that first poem about friendship. She is especially proud of the poetry in This One Life.
