This collection of true football stories demonstrates that sport can unite, inspire and amaze in equal measure. The book is divided into six sections, including War and Peace , Unbelievable Comebacks and Amazing Animals - each of which contains a selection of remarkable soccer tales, from utterly ridiculous incidents to inspirational achievements. Be amazed by the rise to fame of a young homeless girl, who made her international debut aged 17 and, through talent, hard work and sheer determination, went on to become England's most capped player. Read about the Georgian midfielder who saved the life of the captain of the opposing team when he was accidentally knocked unconscious during a match. Or marvel at Paul, the psychic octopus, who correctly predicted the outcomes of several World Cup games. Readers can entertain their friends and family with a multitude of unbelievable soccer stories which are plucked from around the world and throughout history. This interesting, amusing and sometimes bizarre compilation, which can be read from cover to cover or dipped into at random, is sure to be a big hit with football fans. * BookTrust *
