This Calls for an Elephant!

Overview

Edgar is getting new neighbours and he's not happy. What if they're mean and bossy? Or aliens on a mission to take over the earth? Or monsters who gobble kids up like ice cream? Whatever might be coming, he knows one thing for sure: this calls for a plan. Something big. Something bold. Something brave. This calls for an elephant! Follow Edgar as he problem-solves his way around obstacles with creativity and determination, all in an effort to protect himself from the new and unknown. Will he find success? Will he find an elephant? Or will he find what he's been missing all along? And where did that duck come from? Ideal for children aged 3-7, ""This Calls for an Elephant!"" delivers a spirited and entertaining tale in a first release by talented new children's author/illustrator Christopher Muggridge.

Author Information

The offspring of Canadian island-born parents (Manitoulin and Newfoundland), Christopher's childhood of skoolie* road trips and countryside excursions were spent with family and his faithful mutt sidekick, Scout. His imagination, an irrepressible force of nature, often burst forth through raised voice, frenzied activity, and drawing. Lots and lots of drawing. All through school, Christopher pursued first illustration and then later, music and writing. His plans to become a professional comic illustrator or cartoonist were put on hold when adulthood and family responsibilities took him down a rewarding but different path. Then, in 2020, with his children now grown and fresh opportunities available, he reconnected with his childhood passions and relaunched his creative journey. Currently employed as an application developer, Christopher lives north of Toronto, Ontario where he spends his free time writing and illustrating children's books and other related projects. He dreams of a full time life as an author and illustrator in a country house shared with the love of his life and a large dog, surrounded by trees and hills that bring him a sense of peace and home.*A school bus converted into a recreational vehicle or living space.
