Overview

The poetry of new-age feminists is fraught with the agonizing resonance and traumatic affliction of women undergoing physical, emotional, psychological, intellectual, and even virtual bullying. My research interrogates sexist socio-political structures and gendered mechanisms; whereby male dividend structures are actively at work to misrepresent women. On the matrix of domination where a man uses repressive discourse to linguistically surveil women to gender-biased norms of society, there woman uses that very language to demonstrate discursive resistance and empowerment. This research also deconstructs the phallocentric patterns of thoughts and assists with the construction of an autonomous realm of critical thinking which when developed can enable women to experience transformation and rejoice in the transcendental experience of homing in the third space. Along with that, it necessitates Ecriture Feminine to mirror and project the psychological and emotional dimensions of a woman's life who can experience the ultimate resurrection from the leftover sparks of her ashed existence and grow into a winged creature: a phoenix. An empowered woman can navigate the world with an emancipated vision of self-sufficiency, shape her own reality, and learn to survive by homing in the third space of her creative potential.
