In 1993, he founded McCormack+Kristel, the nation's first openly LGBTQ-owned executive search firm. The firm has been recognized by Forbes for the past three years as one of the country's best recruiting firms.Joe is the father of two adult daughters. He and his poet husband Gary Hunter have three healthy and happy grandchildren. They make their home with their two dogs, Oliver and Gracie, in Palm Springs, California.
