Reviews

'Nic Aubury's poetry is proper poetry (yes, I do mean what you think I mean!) in the Betjeman/Wendy Cope tradition, and it's an utter delight – memorable, musical, witty and just brilliant in every way. If you think poetry isn't for you, please, please, give this book a try. Nic is hands down the best new poet to emerge in the last 20 years, and this book is so much fun that it could hold its own, enjoyment-wise, against any typical beach read, blockbuster or airport page-turner. It's also highly relatable if you live in the modern world and occasionally find aspects of it frustrating. Proof that poetry can be pure pleasure!' -- Sophie Hannah

Author Information

Nic Aubury grew up in the Midlands, where he spent most of his time trying to get girls to laugh at his jokes. Then he went to university where he met a girl whose jokes made him laugh.
