Jayne Merriman Yount spent her childhood in Indianapolis, Indiana. She grew up loving books and spending time at her local library. She worked as an elementary school librarian and later graduated from Indiana University. Jayne enjoyed teaching fifth-graders in Franklin, Indiana, and sharing her love of books and reading with her students. Jayne is also the author of a literature unit (Teacher Created Resources) on The Whipping Boy, a novel by Sid Fleischman. Writing poetry and spending time in nature are two of her favorite pastimes.
