This book takes theological education in Asia seriously by founding the task on the Great Commission of Jesus Christ in the social-cultural realities of Asia. Surprisingly, it is rare to see any book of a similar scope of interest and with such a depth of understanding on the subject of suffering. This is an area of Asian theological education which is often overlooked and undermined even by theological educators in the region. Author Information

Johan Ferreira is currently senior lecturer in biblical studies at Melbourne School of Theology. He teaches in the areas of ancient languages, biblical studies, and Christianity in Asia. He was principal of Brisbane School of Theology from 2009 to 2014. He has written numerous books and articles and has wide-ranging experience in theological education in Australia and Asia.
