Overview

Theatre Arts Level One contains over 40 weeks of instructional material for the High School teacher. These guidelines provide flexibility in your year planning so that you can provide a unique experience every year. Each unit is easy to use and gives you the instructional and fun material for instilling a love for the theatre, a desire for skill aquisition, and the courage to perform. Courses included are: Acting Fundamentals, Play Structure, Stage Geography, Mime and Physicality, Technical Theatre, Film Art and Analysis, world theatre, and Script Analysis. Each Lesson states an objective, has supporting steps in teaching this objective, and an assessment at the end of the class showing student's ability to take information in and then present it creatively. Each lesson Has a variety of material for versatility and class preference comgining instruction with hands on learning. This course may be taught in a semester and works equally well taught over a year long course. The lesson plans are innovative including left and right brain activities supporting all types of learners. Students are given the intellectual framework of theory and then gradually build the creative skills to on the stage experience. The lesson plans are fun encouraging joyful play and honest expression in a learner friendly way. Text aligned with Texas Education Knowledge and Skills Evaluation and Character Sketches included. Each unit comes with an evaluation form specific to the unit objectives. Mid term and Final Exams included with Answer Keys.
