Author Information

Miriam Chernick is the author of The Zuzu Secret (2025), her debut novel for young readers. Previously she published A Kid's Guide to Washington, D.C.: Revised and Updated. Miriam is a substitute teacher in her local public schools and a caregiver for her brother who was born with Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare disease. She lives in Maryland with her husband, two clever cats, and Zuki-a bearded dragon-who often sits on her shoulder as she writes. Renee Chambliss got her start in audiobook narration in 2009 when she began podcasting her own writing. Soon after, other writers and audio fiction producers began to ask her to record for them, and that led to professional audiobook narration. She absolutely loves transforming the written word into audio and feels privileged to be able to spend so much of her time telling stories. Her recent recordings include Helper12 by Jack Blaine and The Geek Girl's Guide to Cheerleading by Charity Tamaseb and Darcy Vance. Pete Cross is an Audie and Odyssey Award-winning narrator. When he was eleven years old, Pete sent a cassette tape to an address he found at the back of a magazine advertising auditions to narrate audiobooks. He chose a selection from Dandelion Wine. He was not hired. At about this same time he stowed a cupcake in his knit hat walking home from school. Crumbs for days. Zip forward several decades and you can find Pete in his home studio. He now narrates and produces audiobooks for a living. Pete has narrated over 100 titles, has multiple Earphones Awards, three Audie finalist nods, and was nominated for a SOVAS Award for his narration of Moby Dick. He received the 2022 Audie Award for his YA narration of Ryan La Sala's Be Dazzled. He also narrated the 2023 Odyssey Award-winning audiobook The Honeys by Ryan La Sala. He no longer wears cupcakes in his hair.
