When I used to read books to my two boys, my favorite books to read out loud were rhyming books. Some books are difficult to read aloud, most are okay, but rhyming books are the best. Another thing I really liked is all the different subjects: people, places, animals, food, plants, etc. All of which can lead to further discussion. No dumbing down to what the child would already be familiar with. Also, the theme of the book - that there's more to the alphabet (and life) than just the A and B stars - was very, very clever. I read two or three alphabet book series to the boys during preschool and kindergarten and found them dull, dull, dull. But I certainly would have enjoyed reading The Z Book to them. -- Martha B., Retired Librarian. The poor 26th letter has never gotten the kind of attention author Lorelle Burke Grazis has bestowed upon it. A lovely journey through the many words, things, places and animals whose names included the now vaunted letter Z - a great book for youngsters. -- Jeannine Joslin, Librarian A delightful sojourn in the world of the letter Z - what a wonderful joyride for early learners!when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. -- -- Karen Thiel, Educator Author InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
