John R. Weeks is distinguished professor of geography and director of the International Population Center at San Diego State University. He is also clinical professor of Global Public Health at the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine, and a senior fellow of the California Council on Science and Technology. Debbie L. Fugate is adjunct assistant professor of geography at San Diego State University. She also works as a demographer for the U.S. government and is based in Washington, DC.
