The World's Ugliest Detective: Episode One: Summer

Overview

Donovon Nodd, failed painter turned detective, vows never to work for women again. Women are always horrified or repulsed by how he looks, and it's just not worth it. But when his Aunt Mildred begs him to stop the blackmail that's plaguing the rich and powerful clients of an escort service, Donovon reluctantly agrees. Almost immediately, a menacing Senator orders Donovon not to talk to any of the high profile blackmail victims. And then a tough bouncer orders Donovon not to talk to any of the escorts. How can Donovon investigate if he can't talk to anybody? As if that weren't enough, an advertising executive needs Donovon to discover who stole proprietary documents from her office. Again, a woman. And then his attractive next door neighbor goes out with Donovon to a Detective Awards banquet, but has a hidden agenda involving her twin sister. More women. Finally, when a man is killed in precisely the same way as Donovon's parents were murdered twelve years ago, things get a bit tricky. Aiding Donovon are his Harley-riding Aunt Mildred, a philosophic chili dog vendor, and a young street thug with a flair for art. These disparate cases have Donovon dressing up as a priest on a golf course, as a beekeeper in the Botanic Gardens, and as a clown in a helicopter Donovon may be ugly, but he has a beautiful way of solving mysteries.
