The World in Me

Overview

A lyrical picture book for four-to-eight-year-olds in which a child sees themself reflected in the magic of nature and discovers that all life is connected. Lush imagery and light verse invite young readers to explore a wide variety of human experiences, including emotions, weather, nature, the heavens, and time, to demonstrate the importance of empathy and stewardship of the earth and her creatures, including humanity. Follow a child, a raven, and an elf through the realms of nature. Each landscape, weather pattern, and creature they encounter shows them something about themselves. Emotions crash and settle like waves. Curiosity reaches out like the branches of a tree. Dreams root and fly. The World in Me celebrates the diversity of nature and our emotions and ties us to the natural world. Each expression of the child is as beautiful and important as the cycles of nature. Both are worthy of love and respect. AGES: 4 to 8 AUTHOR: Daria Tavoularis is an artist, writer, and priestess with a mystical connection to nature.
