Overview

The World Hockey Association started play in 1972, and for seven seasons challenged the mighty National Hockey League for hockey dominance in North America. It was the league founded on the shoulders of Bobby Hull and Gordie Howe, and carried forth by Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier and Mike Gartner. This book details the seven-year run of the WHA, with year-by-year standings, thumbnail stories, regular-season and playoff game results and player statistics. Also included are complete draft lists, all-star game results, summaries to significant games, international series results, team summaries, coach and player registries, and a near-complete gallery for every single coach and player to participate in the WHA - over 900 images in all.
