Hidden as child during the Holocaust, he immigrated to Israel at the age of 12, where he lived for nine years on a kibbutz. After performing his military service, he studied chemistry and biochemistry and earned a doctorate in 1969 from the Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology. For 35 years, thereafter, he conducted extensive research in these fields. Since 2007, he has devoted his energy researching and writing the present monograph, which was initially published in French in 2015 and now appears in English.
