Andrea spent over 10 years photographing bees from a distance. She was extremely afraid of them, and wanted to understand why and overcome it. After her horse was attacked by killer bees and almost died in 2001, she was even more uncertain about them. She continued to sit, and watch through a zoom lens, taking beautiful photos of the bees as they worked. In 2015 Andrea disturbed a hive that she wasn't aware of and almost became a victim of many, many bee stings. Gratefully, Mychael was there and warned her to run, so she got away with only a few. After that experience, Andrea called a bee removal specialist and Mychael suited up and took photos as Dan Punch, removed the hive, and relocated the bees. As important to the environment as bees are, Andrea didn't want them killed... Even killer bees can be relocated and managed so they don't harm anyone. With these new photos, the Wisdom of Bees came together and was completed. This book contains amazing images from inside the hive of honeycombs being built, at different stages, bees interacting, larvae growing in the combs, and even a bee ""birthday"" emerging from its comb. It has facs about bees as well as points to ponder and questions to relate to your own life. Photos of bees in nature with flowers, book design, layout, and writing is by Andrea King.
