Bill Morris has taught English at the high school and university levels and was a magazine editor in Florida before taking to the sea in a Cal 30. A self-described “tech head,” he has studied self-steering mechanisms extensively in his years of roaming the oceans—he is now in Australia—and has written about windvane gears for magazines in Australia and the U.S., the latter including Ocean Navigator.
