Named by Vogue magazine as the 'designer to watch,' he has gained recognition as a designer and photographer, working with a celebrity clientele including Mariah Care, Whitney Houston, and Julia Roberts. His first solo museum exhibition took place in SoHo (New York) in 2002, and he continues to curate shows throughout the city, including the 2006/2007 Museum of the City of New York's fashion exhibition, 'Black Style Now'. Geoffrey Holder was born in Trinidad, and moved to New York in 1954, where he made his renaissance career, as a dancer, actor, painter, choreographer, designer, director, and singer.
