This book was first written for family in the mid-1990s but was not published until the autumn of 2025. I have tried in every instance to be honest in the writing of it-the stories are written exactly as Ann, Jack or I remembered them. If you recall things differently and think I am mistaken about something, you must never tell me. I have a divine right not to know. The Way We Were beautifully describes times and places where life wasn't always easy, yet it was simpler all at the same time. During an era of financial depression and war, this family keeps their priorities straight and serves each other through faith in God, love of family, friends and community. This book contains a lifetime of memories.
