Overview

"God did not mean for salvation to be a deep, complicated subject that man could not understand. But sometimes man's words confuse God's simple truths. D. L. Moody, one of the nineteenth century's greatest evangelists, shows how simple salvation is. Avoiding heavy philosophy, he simply shows ""the way to God."" The Way to God is filled with stories about ordinary people. Anyone willing to have honest questions and doubts answered will appreciate such topics as, ""Who is Christ?"" ""How can I know my sins have been forgiven?"" and ""What can I do if I have turned away from God?"" More than one million copies of this classic work have been distributed since it was first published in 1884."

An excellent manual for the soul-winner and the awakened sinner, which we trust will be the means of leading thousands to Christian life and heaven. -- Zion's Herald No one, after reading the nine addresses in this work, can be ignorant of 'the way to God.' There seems no mistaking the author's meaning isasmuch that it may be said that whoso runs may read and he who reads may run in the way to profit and understand. -- British Friend Intensely Biblical, and direct in appeal. -- Christian Chronicle Very earnest and powerful, abounding in apt illustrations, striking thoughts, and helpful, encouraging words. -- National Baptist There are few preachers who may not learn something from Mr. Moody...intense. -- British Quarterly Review Full of the point and pathos, the wit and sense, the fire and force, of this great evangelist. -- Outlook The way of salvation is made as clear as simple language and forcible, pertinent illustration can make it...equal to anything Mr. Moody has produced. -- Lutheran Observer

Author Information

Dwight Lyman Moody (1837-1899), American evangelist, was born in New England, the child of a large working-class family. A religious conversion as an adult led him to found a ministry in Chicago, to work as a battlefield missionary during the Civil War, and eventually to lead massive evangelical crusades during the 1870s and 1880s in both England and the United States. He founded Christian schools and a Christian publishing house, which published his many nondenominational evangelical tracts. Dennis McKee is a voice talent and audiobook narrator.
