Meryl James-Sebro, Ph.D., a development anthropologist based in Naples, Florida, is originally from Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. Her work spans the Caribbean and Africa, focusing on gender and development, poverty eradication, violence against women, and youth empowerment. She is the author of Genderstanding Jesus: Women in His View and Genderstanding Leadership: Power to the Pew and has served as an adjunct professor. A lover of antiquing, art collecting, gardening, and music, she is learning to play the steelpan, the musical instrument invented in her native land. James-Sebro wrote The Way through the Wilderness to remind herself and others of God's enduring love, mercy, and favour.
