Overview

Raised in a Southern Baptist Church family, one boy finds himself in head-over heals in love . . . with nature. With an insatiable desire to know more about nature he throws himself into exploration in the field and in the library. From a young age he just loved knowing what all these living things were about, eventually finding himself as a full professor in a university biology department. Through all this he also pursued his steadfast love of God and serving others. Venable describes what it is like devoting oneself to praising God and doing God's work as well as to the greater understanding of nature and the desire to make this world a better place. Through interactions with the faithful, friends, family, scientists and academics he finds his horizons explosively expanded from his beginnings in a small southern town. He found himself seeking answers and becoming more and more introspective. As he experiences more and more of what life has to offer and following lead after lead he finds himself in a place he never in his wildest dreams imagined himself going.
