John R. Lott Jr. received his PhD in economics from UCLA in 1984. He has held positions at the University of Chicago, Yale University, Stanford, UCLA, Wharton, and Rice. He is the author of The Bias against Guns and the bestselling More Guns, Less Crime and has published numerous articles in academic journals. John McLain is an actor, professional voice talent, and Earphones Award-winning narrator. He has been a finalist for the prestigious Audie Award for best narration. On stage, he has appeared in The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Amahl & the Night Visitors, and The Music Man.
