OverviewWhen Paul penned his famous passage on the armor of God, was he borrowing imagery from a Roman soldier's kit and gear? Hardly. That would have been a disastrous way to appeal to Christians oppressed by Rome. The real inspiration for Paul's analogy is more scripturally consistent. In describing the believers' armor, the Hebrew of Hebrews was simply speaking in his mother tongue: the Old Testament. God has made us a kingdom of priests. Christ, our great High Priest, makes it clear by example that our priestly duty is to be on the offensive against Satan's kingdom. To fight, you want an armor suited for your needs. God's priests need a priestly armor. In fact, this book is something of a mini-biblical theology. Dr. Brito weaves biblical, theological, historical, and pastoral truth to equip the ordinary Christian for the battles he faces daily."" - P. Andrew Sandlin ""Combining keen pastoral and biblical insight, Pastor Brito identifies our gear and tells us how to use it. The War of the Priesthood is a challenging, inspiring field manual for spiritual warriors old and young."" - Peter Leithart ""You can find a man who is happy to be a king. And you can find a man who is happy to be a priest. But a sword- wielding priesthood? That's a rarer sight than spotting your local vegetarian down at the community barbeque festival. Nevertheless, from the time of Moses, our Lord promised that we would be a kingdom of priests. Uri is a faithful guide as the church looks to the fulfillment of that promise. In this work, you have a potent passage of Scripture laid open, one that has much to teach the Christian Church today."" - Jared Longshore" Author InformationRev. Dr. Uriesou T.
