OverviewTHE WAR IS NOT OVER is my tribute to my late husband, Bill Stamps. It's a combination of short stories Bill wrote about his time in Vietnam, as well as his last writings. Social commentaries. Bill was a highly decorated S-2 scout in the Marine Corps. at the height of the war in Vietnam. Delta 1/3. For years, Bill never spoke of his combat time nor about his medals. Starting in 2015, Bill wrote short stories about growing up in the South in the 50's (his first book: MIZ LENA / second book: SOUTHERN FOLKS) which were published every Sunday in the Life Section of the Chattanooga Times Free Press. From time to time, he wrote about Vietnam. It took a lot out of him to cipher through the memory of all those horrors to eek out a story digestible to the civilian. Since Bill's passing, my mission continues to be to promote his fantastic writing and the messages in each one of them. His life story, along for the brave men who fought with all they had, should never be forgotten. To complete this book, I have included some additional commentary columns. Bill was a bright light, brutally honest and loyal to the core. An American hero.
