Overview

In her first book, Arthur and Me, Ann Treherne outlines how Sherlock Holmes's creator, Arthur Conan Doyle begins to communicate with her. This realization was transformational. As that first book relays, Ann left a high-powered career in the corporate, financial world to begin a new spiritual journey, which included research and investigation of the paranormal. Over the five-year period covered by the first book, Arthur Conan Doyle guides Ann and her Group in their development and understanding of the Spiritual World. He also leads the circle members to locate a certain building in Edinburgh - to be named after him. That building was found in December 2010 and opened the following year as Scotland's premier centre for mediumship training and development as well as studies into consciousness and parapsychology. The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre was born. This second book, The Vortex - Arthur and Me, Volume II, picks up events again and explores the first ten years in the history of The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre. But this is no ordinary history. Indeed, as well as continuing the story of the Group, its communications with Arthur and the spiritual mission of Ann, Volume II offers us something different and original: the paranormal story of a building, and more expansively of the strange happenings encountered in that building. Had it not been for Ann's careful documenting of events as well as her aim always to seek corroboration, one would consider these events impossible. For, as Sherlock Holmes would say, 'When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.'
