Overview

The Voice of The Hall is a fictional work based on the history of Hornsey Town Hall - the first major U.K building built in the modernist style. The narrative will be a reflection from the building as it looks over its 80-year life. As the timeline of the story approaches the present there is an awareness of an end approaching with the developers closing in. The broader subject matter will invite readers to question what we lose or gain with the advance of progress and development. How much influence do the public have in shaping or preserving their communities and public spaces?
