Author Information

Damien Downing is president of the British Society for Ecological Medicine and editor of the Journal of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. He has undertaken pioneering work in the treatment of allergies, the link between behaviour disorders and nutrition and light therapy and treatment of chronic fatigue, autism and attention deficit /hyperactivity disorder. Dr. Downing maintains a private practice in the U.K. Anne Pemberton started her career as a nurse, specialising in heart and lung surgery and worked in intensive care unit with people needing temporary life support following major surgery. During this time she married and had two children, one of whom was diagnosed with autism and began to have her own health issues. At thirty-six she returned to University majoring in psychology. Her PGCE in autism was supposed to help her home school her autistic son. Instead, the course introduced her to a few key people who changed her career trajectory. Anne is the Director of a Masters degree course in nutritional therapy at The Northern College of Acupuncture in York and is, also, an instructor on the course.
