The Virtue of Patience Withers Itself: A Collection of Poems

Overview

The enormity of human emotions is difficult to put into words. In Alistair Woo's debut poetry collection, The Virtue of Patience Withers Itself, the complexities of our relationships with others, with the passage of time, and with ourselves are explored and made sense of, and the tender simplicity of life is brought to the surface. In tandem with the hopeful bliss of life, the dark side of mental health comes forward in Woo's uniquely conversational voice, shedding light on topics often left ignored. In The Virtue of Patience Withers Itself, these hard topics are not brushed aside; they are brought to the center of the conversation. For those seeking solace and community in their own hard times or for those who have never heard words put to their feelings.

Author Information

Alistair Woo is 17 going on 18 and a senior in high school. He's been writing all of his life, completing his first book at 11 years old. Writing is an instrumental part of his life and something that will never truly leave, whether that be poetry, essays, or stories, and he plans to continue writing in college and beyond. He lives in Cincinnati Ohio with his family and five cats (one of them is a rabbit but he doesn't know it), and spends a great deal of his time walking up and down the same old street. It's good for the soul, so they say.
