The following desciptive form is used for each manuscript: brief descriptive sentence; approximate date; number of leaves; foliation/pagination; blank music pages; script; inscriptions; format and dimensions; watermarks; rastrology; collation; binding and decorations; provenance; bibliography; composers as given in the source; original numbering systems; title or first line., scoring; Viola da Gamba Society Thematic Index number.
