OverviewSet in India In the early eighties Max and Natalle, now married, take their teenage daughters to escape the turmoil of their London life. They take on what they consider to be an easy case, that of embezzlement. The case soon becomes a murder investigation, and Max finds himself embroiled in helping an old friend, Manu, who now heads up the district of Bombay where the events take place. Natalie hopes to become better acquainted with her adopted daughters, Alex and Maddle, by encouraging them to help her with tasks such as following subjects of interest. Their involvement creates tensions not just with Max but also draws the attention of the Bombay Mafia boss, who wants to become legitimate by taking over the Bollywood film industry. Once again Max and Natalle's relationship is tested as she becomes emotionally involved with an Indian surgeon who defies all the conventions placed upon him by his beloved father.
