Overview

The last known man is dead. Until now, at least one male has been born for each generation, allowing humanity to continue. But this time, the Sisterhood has been unable to find him. Zeya is a selfa. Blessed with the Goddess' Flame, she has the ability to sense and track down men. When a rumor of a male in a remote village surfaces, Zeya is sent on the Venery to hunt and capture him. Joined by her wombsister, Meleya, and sister, Preza, they must find the male and bring him back safely to the capital city, where he can be used to create the next generation of warriors to defend against a monstrous threat. Their journey will not be easy. Armed only with the weapons on their backs, they must cross the Greenwood, a dense forest filled with inhuman beasts known as the Greishic. These beasts attack and feed on the women of the Sisterhood. The burden of the Venery weighs heavily on Zeya. Even if she does manage to reach the village, she still must find the male and bring him back alive. Her failure would mean empty wombs and the very end of humanity.
