Overview

With this Universal Project Management System you will fly your organization to the rapid planning, management and completion of its projects ...by incorporating the lessons of migratory birds. WHEN IT COMES TO MANAGING PROJECTS, IS YOUR ORGANIZATION IN TOTAL DISARRAY? ....OR IS EVERYONE FLYING IN THE SAME FORMATION Perhaps no other event is more disruptive and potentially damaging to morale and to otherwise smooth-running daily operations than the introduction of a project . Now there is a solution for every size or type of project in any type or size of organization. WHAT DOES PROJECT MANAGEMENT HAVE TO DO WITH GEESE? Studies of migrating geese flying in V formation have provided the following significant observations for our purposes: 1. The flight leader clearly knows the flight's intended destination and is tasked to be sure that every action of the v is movement toward the destination. 2. When the flight leader tires, it falls back to the middle of one of the v's wings and another bird, obviously qualified to lead the flight, moves up to take its place. 3. Each bird is provided uplift by the bird in front of it, allowing the echelon to increase distances traveled without stopping to rest by seventy percent or more over the distance each bird could have achieved on its own. 4. The birds at the rear of each wing also tire and are observed moving forward to the middle of the wings to rest. 5. Birds to the rear are heard to honk continuous encouragement to the birds ahead of them. 6. If a bird falls from formation, two other birds go with it and stay with it until it either recovers or can't go on. They then join a formation until they can find and re-join their own formation. 7. V formation allows each bird to have the maximum visual awareness of the other birds, their flight direction and of its surroundings. What amazing structure and organization and purpose! How can you apply this v formation behavior to the issues that projects cause organizations? How do the two relate? Project Management and The V-Formation Method(TM) A single, universal project management system that can be used by any type of group or enterprise of any size and one that provides uniformity of methods, easy replication, and an emphasis on teamwork. A system that works for any type of project as well as at every level from a single small internal group to a large international organization. Comparing V Formation structure and the behavior of the birds, one is struck by the clear analogies and similarities to a number of examples of standard business vernacular that were being demonstrated: 1. Leadership focused on a crystal clear Mission Statement (i.e. the destination)
