OverviewAt any given time, there are approximately 400,000 children in the U.S. foster care system. These children have been removed from their biological home through no fault of their own, for their protection. Each child is given a backpack in which to transport their belongings. Too often, the child is moved from one foster home to another and scarcely has time to unpack during the many transitions. The ultimate goal is to resolve the issues in the biological family and return the child to their own home. When that isn't possible, many children find loving homes and are adopted. This book is intended to give hope to the foster children who remain in the system that the perfect home is waiting for them.
