The University Curriculum for Physical Education in Mercosur Countries since the 1980s: A Historical and Comparative Study. This work seeks to reveal common and different characteristics of the aforementioned curriculum, taking as a reference point a very paradigmatic decade for the countries that initially formed Mercosur (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay), given that all of them overcame their totalitarian dictatorial regimes in the aforementioned decade. By identifying similarities and/or differences in university education in Physical Education, it becomes possible to propose parameters and guidelines capable of suggesting expanded education for the four countries, thus allowing for a greater exchange of knowledge about an area of knowledge that is increasingly prominent in modern societies. Nevertheless, a broad discussion is opening up about the real need and desire to promote a sector that has been a priority for the bloc since its inception, MERCOSUR EDUCATION. Furthermore, it is important to understand how and why the university curriculum for Physical Education in Mercosur countries has become so similar and at the same time so different in such a short space of time/years.
