Overview

The Undaunted King Gouddaa of the Arawaks and Caribs is written by Mr. Douglas Burns and Mr. Eddison, Alric Dames, is based on an original story about a time when the ARAWAKS and CARIBS lived under one rule united by king Gouddaa in that which is today call the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. A time set in an unknown time long forgotten, mixed with black- magic, Voodoo, forbidden love, and the elaborate and spectacular costumes of the Bahamas native Junkanoo Festival, never before witness in such fashion. This adventure is centered on Gouddaa, king of the Arawaks and Caribs as he seeks out an enchanting holy crystal that lies in the hand of his greatest adversary, the Black-Widow. His family is also thrown into disarray as his two sons Dicious and Derious rival over a forbidden love. The ultimate battle begins and in the end will evil prevails or will forgiveness struggle...stumble...or fall.

Author Information

Douglas Bums was born in Nassau, Bahamas on March 18th, 1960. A young man who did not follow his family trade mark of Carpentry instead he was educated to become a Writer, Producer and Traveler.Douglas married a beautiful Princess from the Far East, and then wrote the book, years after his first born. He then took the idea of the book to his longtime friend Eddison Alrick Dames who was most impressed with the concept for the book, but it was not until one year later, the two friends decided to publish the book. Eddison Alric Dames was born in the Bahamas in the City of Hope Town, on the Island of Abaco in 1951. His passion for life drove him to inspirational heights and placed him amongst the Cultural Icons of the world. He published his first book of Poetry in 1995 and traveled internationally and locally promoting the cultural aspects of the Bahamas in Music, Dance, Song and Junkanoo which is the Native African Festival of the Bahamas. He spent several years in the research and development of Movies, Filming and Acting. In 1997 the opportunity to work closely with his friend Mr. Douglas Bums resulted in the writing of the this book.
