Overview

This book is the story of my life-a life lived throughout the twentieth century. A time when parents stood on the porch and yelled or whistled for you to come home. With no A/C, we spent endless summer nights with the windows open, hoping for a breeze. My cousins and I often attempted risky adventures in our playful moments-and we lived through them. I would not change a thing. Today, my children are reflecting my upbringing in the way they are raising their own children, and I am proud of them. We lived for several decades in Las Vegas, and yet violence was never a part of our lives. I believe that children learn their behavior from how they are raised. If there is violence in the home, they will display the same. If there is comfort, love of God, and love for others, that will show as well. I hope this book inspires parents everywhere to be wonderful, devoted, and loving. This is my prayer. - Johnnie Beatty
