Reviews

The service dog community has been plagued with inaccurate, incomplete, and slanted information. Thanks to Kea, we finally have an industry-standard, accurate, comprehensive reference manual for the service dog professional. The Ultimate Service Dog Guide covers every aspect of the subject, including types of service dog jobs, legalities, task training, costs, and picking a good service dog candidate. Researched and written by a professional trainer who has spent her career in task training and partnership pairing, the material utilizes scientifically-based training techniques which are cooperative, kind, and--most importantly--effective. Kea writes in a conversational style which is accessible and straightforward. This book is an absolute MUST for every service dog professional or advocate. -- Kyra Sundance, author, internationally bestselling 101 Dog Tricks and The Dog Rules If becoming a better trainer is your goal, then The Ultimate Service Dog Guide by Kea Grace is a must-read. The philosophy of the book, first do no harm, is one that I, as a veterinarian, fully endorse and appreciate. This is a philosophy Kea lives by, and because of this her dogs thrive and willingly work with her and for her. I recommend this book to dog trainers, but also to owners who wish to learn more about how to train their dogs and improve the human-animal bond and communication. --Jill M. Patt, DMV
