""From hardscrabble rural poverty and corpses in the living room to Nashville's bright lights and boozy nights (and mornings, and afternoons...) this madcap true account of one man's quest for love, identity-and gainful employment as a radio man-has it all: hijinks, heartbreak, and hilarity."" Annie Wilder, Author You write in such an engaging style. I laughed at your humor, I delighted when you found success, I cried when you messed up. Anne Nestman - Teacher - Halifax, NS "" The Ugly One In the Middle"" is fun, fast-paced and downright hilarious! But on a much deeper level it's also an insightful journey through the ups and downs of an actual adoptee's life as he searches for his birth mother, his personal identity and his quest for true love. Stan Campbell's style is delightfully self-deprecating, yet still allows you to feel the raw emotion that accompanies the successes and failures of his heartfelt search -- a search that culminates in an incredible and miraculous ending. Ron Roy - Award Winning TV Producer/Director Los Angeles Stan, I think you should include a disclaimer on your site that should read...""if you want to save your own marriage, buy two copies of this book""! My husband enjoyed the book as much as me, if not more. We had to take turns reading it. There were nights that we both wanted the book, so to keep peace, I read aloud. We couldn't get enough! We love your humorous account of so many life altering events, and your humility to admit your own faults...I will NEVER ask you to keep a secret! Most of all, we really enjoyed getting to know you better. We are so incredibly happy for your life journey in finding TRUE love, and your birth family. You never gave up, Stan. And, though I am not God, I do believe that I know why you are here...YOU ARE LOVED! Angela Boardman - Producer, Cadillac, MI" Author Information(Alex) Stan Campbell has had several careers through the years. After a stint in the Canadian Army, Stan pursued a career as an electronic technician, once cleared for a Top Secret assignment in the Arctic. Following the Arctic operation, Stan auditioned a local Nova Scotia radio station for an overnight on air position...most often referred to as a DJ. Quickly, he moved on to host radio shows throughout Canada and eventually in Toronto. In 1982, Stan left radio behind for several years to launch a record company and begin producing artists in Nashville. One of his more famous artists was a then-unknown, Eilleen (Shania) Twain. The record business turned out to be a critical success but a financial disaster. Following filing Chapter 11, Stan returned to the airwaves in Nashville. He quickly gained success and moved upward within four years, from Nashville to Cincinnati to Los Angeles. However, after five years in Hollywood, Stan and his fourth wife Susan moved to the peace and quiet of a small town in Northern Michigan. Stan is currently a voice actor providing voiceovers for clients throughout the US. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
