Mark S. Smith, Ph.D. (1985) in Northwest Semitic Languages and Literatures at Yale University, is Associate Professor of Bible at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia. He has published extensively on Ugaritic, Israelite Religion and the Psalms.
